100 Watt Nebulae are series of still photographic images exploring the perception of light and dark.

Lightbulbs were painted with a variety of materials to render them entirely black to the naked eye. They were then photographed in their attempt to emit light, tracing flaws in an ostensibly impenetrable surface.

The series received the Edinburgh Printmakers Award at the RSA Annual Exhibition, Edinburgh 2011
